There really isn't much to do in Ballina. We used this as a place to stay prior to travelling to Byron, and when we were there, the place was pretty much a ghost town.

Everything is closed at 8pm, which makes going out for dinner difficult unless you want to go to the RSL. Stayed there for 3 days as a "chill out", and I was very glad we stayed at a decent hotel! The beaches are fantastic and not overcrowded although I was there in an off peak period. The town is pretty, uncluttered and easy to find what you are looking for. The visitors information centre is excellent with lovely people to help you choose what to do.

Wish we stayed longer rather than just a stop over. The beaches are so lovely and warm. The town is clean, neat, tidy. Beautiful beach and lake. A credit to the local community. The local people are warm and friendly. We were there for a family function. Arrived Saturday afternoon of a long weekend and everything in town was closed. Decided to visit Thursday Plantation tea tree natural health products but that was also closed. Walked along the river which was pretty but nothing special. We were looking for somewhere else to fish and were extremely pleased with the amount of fish and crabs around.

Easy to drive to surrounding areas and explore. Nice places to go for walks. Could not find a decent fish and chip shop which was unbelievable. Perfect motel with hotel facilities! Very happy :. Love to go back there next time and spend more time in this sweet town! Had a great stay at this hotel, friendly staff, clean, well maintained lawn and garden.

Loved the pool, spa and closeness to a patrolled beach. Also loved the wildlife, friendly lizards and birds. The kitchen was one of the best equiped kitchens we have found in any holiday rental, and it was great having 2 bathrooms. Comfy beds and a beautiful view over Ballina and out to sea. Very good hotel friendly staff. Clean room comfortable beds and pillows good layout couldn't fault anything would definitely recommend and would stay there again. Buffet breakfast was very affordable and varied. Highly recommended. We have found our new home base when we visit Ballina!

This is a lovely little motel that has been beautifully renovated. We look forward to visiting again soon! Nice and very comfortable Motel right in the Main Street and very friendly staff.
