The bed was divine, the location is perfect, the freezer was filled with ice cubes, there was milk in the fridge, a Nespresso machine with milk frother , the gas fire was fantastic, the TV had all the streaming services and the NBN was FAST.

Parking is undercover at the door, it was peaceful and quiet in spite of its proximity to the Main Street. Wow Wow Wow!!! Picturesque setting amongst olive trees and river gums. If you have never visited Rutherglen before I would recommend you try as many wineries as you can because they are all good. My favourite places to eat are Tulleries and All Saints for fine dining excellence and the Poachers Paradise Hotel for really good bistro food.

I also love going to St Leonards Winery on the banks of the Murray for tasty food and really good wine. Pfeiffers has some really good wines and a walk over the bridge at Sunday Creek is just lovely. If you don't want to drink and drive then there are winery tours available for your comfort. If you want to venture further down the Murray then I would recommend the historic towns of Beechworth and Chiltern as well worth a look and there are plenty of scenic drives and bicycle rides to do. If you want to explore the Rutherglen area then you will need a car!

If you don't like the heat then don't go to Rutherglen in the summer because it is very hot, or at least make sure you have a pool nearby for a swim, which is what I did on my recent trip.

Also you need to remember that Rutherglen is inland and not near the beach. Other than that come along and try it for yourself. The Rutherglen Wine Region has some amazing Wineries that has one thing that sets them apart, the many Wineries that accept dogs on their premises. That in itself makes for an amazing experience in Rutherglen when travelling with your family pet.

It was central to many towns in the whole region, so great for exploring. Lunch at All Saint's winery was fantastic. Also, lunch at Wicked Virgin Boutique winery and olives was surprisingly great! More of the wineries need decent dining options!! Try the Thousand Pound wine bar in Rutherglen's main street.

Well worth a visit! And the bridge bar at Pfieffers is a must at this time of year! A wonderful Country Town that has a range of Wineries with some very special wines. A choice of good Restaurants and Hotels.
