I then rang the property and requested a ground floor room and later confirmed this again a week before arrival.

When I gave my name at check in and said I had a booking for 2 nights, I was greeted with without any prompting I might add If you wanted 2 beds you should have told me Silly me I actually thought the 2 beds option would have been obvious because I could have booked a deluxe room with a queen bed, but instead I booked the standard room with a double and 2 singles I was then lectured about not telling them I wanted 2 beds.

Give them their due, they did offer a 2 bed room tonight and a 1 bed room tomorrow with one not on the ground floor but I said that I didn't want to change rooms and it had to be ground floor and that the one double bed would be OK. I went to the room and it s very adequate and nicely set out. I looked up the confirmation I have received at time of booking and noted that the room description and the bedding configuration on the clearly indicated that there would be at least 2 beds.

I took the confirmation back to reception and an older man took over, insisted I had been given the room I had booked - definitely not true. I do not appreciate being lectured to.
